In the form of a research that could be described as phenomenological, his projects are the result of life experiences, but also of scientific research. The artist then fixes them in time and space, with a durable material and a technique involving a long learning process, that is to say direct carving on wood and painting.<\/p>\n<p>His sculptures, through their narrative, take an incisive look at the extinction of species, overconsumption and climate change, among other things. They are staged with characteristic objects of human origin; the whole as a caricature of our civilization.<\/p>\n<p>In Gotti\u2019s installations, the animal characters are civilizational archetypes and use artifacts to compensate for the loss of their environment caused by industrial activity. They may also be seeking to create another history. If read critically and politically, his works are open questions to the viewer about the short and long term consequences of our present lifestyles. The representation of hybridized animals makes the artist\u2019s proposals accessible and thus allows him to initiate a reflection on politics and ecology among a wide audience. Mathieu Gotti wishes that his sculptures, by their playful and colorful aspect, be an opening to discussion with the spectator, whether he is familiar or not with the art world.<\/p><\/div>\n<div
