Art M\u00fbr is very pleased to announce its participation at the Pulse Contemporary Art Fair in NYC. This May 9-12, Guillaume Lachapelle\u2019s recent production of 3d printed sculptures will be featured in the Impulse section of solo artist booths, and Robbie Cornelissen\u2019s critically acclaimed 3D computer animation and live-action film Labyrinth Runner will be shown in Pulse Play – a special project area for videos during the fair.<\/p>\n

Guillaume Lachapelle\u2019s artistic practice is shaped predominantly by sculpture, expressed in the form of installations and detailed miniature models. Lachapelle presents playful universes which combine objects of undetermined purpose; in this way, he opens the conventions of our reality to fresh disposition. The architecture of his models \u2013 which Lachapelle has recently begun to make with the help of the latest 3-D printing technology \u2013 shows motifs originating from the everyday, certainly, but seeming strange, alienating or even uncanny when combined as the artist chooses.<\/p>\n

Robbie Cornelissen (b. 1954) is one of the leading contemporary draughtsmen in the Netherlands. Cornelissen has established a reputation for the monumental, architectural drawings that he has been creating since the early 1990s. In these detailed pencil drawings of libraries, waiting rooms, factory buildings, circus arenas and shopping centres he plays with transitions and connections between indoor and outdoor space. The large format of the drawings, sometimes four metres wide, almost invites the beholder to \u2018enter into\u2019 the work.<\/p>\n

This will be our second participation at Pulse. During our presentation in 2011, the gallery was selected as a finalist for the Pulse Prize \u2013 an award of distinction for best booth in the Impulse section.<\/p>\n
