I find lust and temptation for designer products fascinating. I work depicting embellished self-portraits, couture products/symbols and hyper sexualized scenes. My work embodies a gain of luxurious status through illicit and corrupt methods. I incorporate undertones of sexualization and deceitful performances through the use of masks, a sexualized blush, and with the use of the human gaze. My work embodies one’s desire for affluence and the desperation desire brings. Sugar daddy culture and pornography all shape my work. I find an individual’s balance of desires and morals personal and captivating.

Ethan Platt is a Toronto based figure painter. His works explore luxurious lifestyles, consumerism, and illicit behaviours. Platt’s fascination with designer products began by observing handbags and shoes of the upper class in Toronto. The power and confidence which the products embody captivates the artist. He began desiring the products himself. With a budget which did not match the designs, Platt began investigating alternative methods of acquiring luxury products. This foresaw the realization of criminal behaviours associated with the high class, and began his works exploring status through a taboo and illicit lens.
