Biographie

Né en 1952 à Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, Shayne Dark habite maintenant à Hartington, Ontario. Depuis qu'il a débuté sa carrière, dans les années 80, Shayne Dark a participé à plusieurs expositions au Canada et aux États-Unis. Dark crée des sculptures prenant part à chaque aspect du processus de création, lequel, selon lui, se concentre sur la physicalité et l'expérience perceptuel du monde. Son travail évoque souvent le contraste entre la vie urbaine et le monde naturel et on comme objectif de stimuler une réaction viscérale et spirituelle chez le spectateur.

Le travail de Shayne Dark a été sélectionné par un jury international venant des 5 continents pour l'exposition ARTiade-Olympique des arts visuels. L'exposition a été présentée à Athènes, du 12 août au 29 septembre 2004, pendant les XXVIII Jeux Olympiques. Shayne Dark est un des trois Canadiens à représenter le Canada.
